11/02/2006 Entry: "Raleigh, NC"

Ok, I am going to share the following with you at the risk of becoming a complete fool in your eyes...I risk that in hopes someone will get what I am attempting to say, and it will awaken something on the insdie of them. Now I wrote the following journal entry with NO INTENT of ever sharing it with anyone. It was just for me…but today I ran across it and thought I would share it because it is the essence of what our new record is all about…”the life unfolding”…it’s about really seeking God, and getting out of the box that often blinds us. It’s about looking for God outside of the ways we always have because they have been comfortable. I don't mean just the initial experience of salvation. For example, Moses found God on a mountain. David found Him in a song. Daniel found Him in a dream. Rahab found him through spoken words. Israel found Him in a cloud by day and fire by night. Esther found Him in her destiny. Deborah found him on the battlefield. God is not bound to our methods nor ideas of how we think He will speak to us or move in our lives. I think that is one of the coolest things about God…

9/30/06 Raleigh, North Carolina

I just walked into the bathroom at Starbucks in North Carolina...oddly enough, as I was in there, i said out loud..."God teach me! I want to know You! I want to love you! Here am I send me, use me for your glory" I had just moved all my stuff inside from outside...it was getting hot. So, i went to plug in my computer, which i wasn't even using yet, and there on the outlet was some sort of code that read...P.V. 02.31.33. and call it coincidence if you want, but i went to Proverbs 2 and the whole thing is about finding wisdom, finding GOD! I had JUST PRAYED "God teach me"...those were my exact words!!! right before i came inside, i was writing about how doubt holds us at a distance from ever seeing God interrupt the "natural" world, our normal cycle...again, it would be easy to dismiss this as coincidence...that's the way our mind works, especially mine! the natural man doubts...but i believe God has found me here in Raleigh, North Carolina today...why? because I REALLY ASKED...man, that is so cool...i am honored that i requested His presence and He came…

Now, i am going to share what God spoke to my heart through Proverbs2 tomorrow..but i figured if i posted it today it would be way too lengthy of a post to read :) so i will share tomorrow...plus it'd be cool if you all READ PROVERBS 2 and share what you get out of it on your post tomorrow! just an idea :) its a freakin cool chapter!

wow Sara, I don't think that was a coincidence......b/c somewhat of the same thing happend to me on monday...like a week ago I prayed that I would not be desesitized by Jesus' death, b/c I sorta felt like I was..and I cryed out to Him, just asking if I would be reminded about that...then I went to a Ever Stays Red concert, and they had like this video playing behind them, and it was clips from The Passion Of The Christ...and I saw just not even HALF of what Jesus went through, and I heard God saying My Son went through that Jess." and I was no longer desenitizied by it....So Sara...isn't in amazing how God just drops us little hints...but in the end their a HUGE life changing experience!? Got is truly amazing...and I'm glad that I'm not the olny one who knows that!

adrienne, Sara is totally right. he is involved in EVERY SINGLE aspect of our life. Why else would he send his son to die on the cross for you? He knows your name, he knows how many hairs are on your head, he knows your deepest, darkest thoughts and feelings, he knows everything about you. And he still loves you.
That part is so hard to wrap my mind around- he knows my feelings of hate and hanger, and he still loves me.
So Adrienne, just think of it this way- If God took the time to Create you, wouldn't he have enough time to know every intimate detail and request that you have?
Think about it.

Adrienne-thank you for speaking your mind. whether i agree or anyone else does, that's not the point..i want this journal to always be about honesty. so thank you for that! i respect you a lot for that!! :)

so...is God in every detail of our life...we'd definitely like to think so wouldn't we? because then the often mundane routine we call life would actually have significance: ) but outside of that general need to "feel" our lives are significant...i think it is true...

now follow me, i am NOT using this as a cop out..but i have learned there are MANY things about God which are FAR beyond my understanding...in fact if i could understand every aspect of Him, he would be reduced to the level on which i have created him...simply human. so when i say we just won't get some things...that's not a cop out...i think some things we will never get until we cross over to the other side. Now, relating to this issue...i mean that it is FAR beyond my ability to grasp how God could be concerned with or even see what is going on in everyone's life at once, much less the little things...that's beyond me...but there is a verse that came to my mind right away...

it says, "every good and perfect gift comes from God"James 1:17 so He is most definitely a part of every Good thing, from the unnoticed things such as the warmth of a sunbeam that falls on our face, or the fact that we even have bread on the table or if we are protected throughout our day...etc,etc...so i think even though i can't get my head around the HOW it's possible, HE IS GOD, so therefore i think it is so.

There is also a verse that says,
"Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows"Matthew 10:29-30

....so surely if he notices a bird fall to the ground,and he knows how many hairs are on each of our heads...that's pretty nuts, then he cares about and is a part in the littlest details of our lives! we don't even know how many hairs are on our head! point is, He is paying attention!!!

You also see God all throughout the Bible taking note of his children's lives...He would tell them hey! i noticed you're weak, I am your strength! When they were abandoning Him, He would say things like, Hey! i'm aware your love has grown cold!" etc...He noticed everything...keep that in mind when you read the Bible, and you will see God is most definitely aware of and a part of everything...now, certainly many times we don't NOTICE opportunities he gives us, or sense Him, or hear Him many times simply because we are not paying attention.

Now I know some people can get super carried away with all this...like for instance they eat too much pizza, have some crazy dreams about the world ending tomorrow, and get up and tell the congregation GOD SAID WE WILL ALL DIE TOMORROW! so REPENT! They think God was in the dream...I do believe God can speak through dreams, but my point here is that through our journey we learn to discern God's voice! and NOTICE HIM more even in the little things...gosh i just rambled forever...i hope i made sense :)

sara, first of all...i agree with kirsty (by the way, kirsty, you seem way cool). don't stress out about replying. we're not going anywhere. ;o)

haha. this post is REALLY cool. it makes me think about something that happened a couple weeks ago, and it seems to be an ongoing thing. my little story might be completely random and not at all what you're talking about, but i still think it's cool.

so about 4 weeeks ago i started having some major health problems. on top of that i have been trying to balance 2 jobs, classes, lots of obligations, as well as the normal stresses of life in my family and with the people around me here at school. i was literally at a breaking point. one night i felt really trapped in my room, so i went out to my car to get away from everyone...brought my bible...and just sat there to have some God time. haha...i know you aren't supposed to do this, but i was pretty frazzled, so i just opened my bible and said to God out loud "please just...show me what to read. because i have no idea where to look or even what i'm looking for. HELPPP!!!" so...i opened my bible to a random page, closed my eyes and put my finger on a random verse...and...yeah it was the one that says "be still and know i'm God." i was like cool cool...that's pretty general, but ok. so i turned on the radio. and as i did (i kid you not)...the words said "just be still and know i'm God". to make a super long story short...over the past THREE weeks i have been getting the SAME message. i even went to a christian bookstore and was just walking around. i was looking at tshirts and there was this random one on the floor that didn't go with anything else...so i picked it up. guess what it said on it. just guess. haha. yeah. so needless to say...i bought it...and...i've been very still.

that was pretty long and random, but i just wanted to share because God does such awesome things, and things like what happened with me...just...make me realize that God HAS to have a sense of humor. i bet He was sitting up there having a good time watching me find His clues. i bet He laughed. a lot.

can't wait to read the second part! yay!

Hate to play devil's advocate here, but my dad (a pastor) and I were talking the other day about how involved God is in our lives. Like is he in every intimate detail or is he just really concerned with the big stuff. I guess your thing with proverbs would still count as bigger stuff since it effected your relationship with Him. But its really been bugging me trying to understand to extent God cares and in what parts of my life is he involved. I don't know somebody give me a hint!

Thats awesome, I love when God speaks in those random ways that are so crazy when you actually say it out loud, haha. I shall read Proverbs 2 tonight:)

Also was just perusing the messages and noticed you said you had something like 300 emails and 550 myspace messages, thats sooo crazy!! So from me as an emailer/myspacer, don't STRESS about replying, I think its great how hard you try with it, infact I just added that point in a myspace message a few mins ago, haha I guess im not helping the problem,lol.

haha...I definitely don't think of you as a fool after reading that. I have heard wierder things for sure...I totally agree with you. I think we sometimes put our own limits on God in our mind...when really..isn't God limitless?
