U R right, sara. It's not bad to put on makeup or anything, but it's when we get OBSESSED with looking good or being skinny, Etc, that it's bad.. I know a girl who is so skinny that size one pants dont stay on her... yet she thinks she's too skinny. She's going thru thereapy now, but it's soo scary how we can get so caught up in this stuff!!!!

well i think it's ok to get "dressed up" fixed up" paint the ole barn or however you want to put it :) when the external is the end all...meaning that is it...i think that's wrong, cuz like they say "beauty is only skin deep" and when we get so wrapped up in the outside we never look on the inside well end up with some major issues. my point in showing the vid is just to show especially how photoshop can move eyebrows, make a neck longer, take off cellulite, get rid of wrinkles, add cleavage, take off this or whatever...that was my main point and just the whole process in general...cuz it's easy to compare yourself to all that and think freak! they're so pretty...yada, yada, but my point is that yeah, there are lots of beautiful people and im not saying a lot of models arent, but theres a LOT more "editing" that goes into photos we see than we realize (ie photoshop)

I think that it depends on how the make up is being used. If you are just using it to enhance what's already there and it looks natural then that's fine. key word being "natural".

Yeah, I remember my mom showed me that video a couple weeks ago... The way that America looks at beauty can be so twisted sometimes, I think every girl has felt like they weren't good enough at one time. But you look at the models then you look in the mirror and its like you feel so insignificant... No girl could live up to that.

wow... It is amazing how people think that being beatuiful means being harmfully unhealthy! in my perspective someone who is beautiful is a person who is not afraid to be who they are. the real them... not someone with their face smothered in make-up even though I sit here putting on make-up in front of a mirrior. I have a question for Sara... Why do people promote self beauty but they wear tons of makeup? I am pretty sure that i am one of those people... its sad really... I am confusing myself but god made every one of us unique so fluant gods love!every one has it but not everybody shows it off to the world! not what kind of makeup you have!

totally true, jeni! wow perfectly stated!!

it's sad b/c i know that when i was younger i always wanted to be like the models but as i grew up i learned all the stuff they did to enhance or perfect the model's pix! it's sad but ppl actually will risk dying juuuust to look like these "role models"....

yea jeni i wonder what they think too...i imagine their self esteem going down a notch or three!

It's insane what computers can do. And it's even more crazy what photo editing can do for our self esteem. I know that I fix pictures of myself on my computer with my photoshop program. If your teeth aren't white enough you can whiten them. If you think you're too pale, you can give yourself a tan. You can remove blemishes. And that's just with the $80 program I have. I can only imagine what they can do with $1000 + programs. Makes you wonder what the models think when they see themselves on the billboards and what they see isn't what they see in the mirror.
