Hey Sara!
my one and only resolution was to lose weight... this included making better eating choices and excercising more. As for how well I'm doing it's hard to say. I made it through Jan. commitment wise excellently. I worked out for between one and two hours, five days a week. I kept my calorie consumption between 1200 and 1400 per day and in those four weeks I ended up GAINING 8 pounds *sigh* so the results aspect I did not do so good. Now as we head in to Feb. this were going great till my furnace started giving me fits and I could not stay after work to exercise for having to get up early (I work second shift) for the repair guys to fix my furnace. Then to top it off we ended up with subzero tempuratures for the first week of Feb (while my furnace was not working). After two service calls and 9 days without central heat (I don't want to see my electric bill for this month considering I heated a 2300 sq foot house with 4 electric space heaters for that time period) my furnace is now working properly... who knew the damage a bee could do during the summer... my flue pipe had to be cut off and the guy pulled not one... not two... but three bees nests out of the pipe (I'm surprised it worked at all up till the time it did). So now I've not kept my resolution for a little over a week. Now starting into the second week of Feb. I'm geared up to start back exercising after work again only to be informed of a severe winter storm warning with predictions of 12 to 18 inches of snow accumulations with severe drifting and whiteout conditions. So... there went the idea of getting back on track as now I have to go to the store and get a few staples and gas for the generator in case I'm snowed in and we lose power (for which case brings us up to today and Yup... I'm snowed in... there is a 3 foot drift surrounding my truck and you can't see the house that is one and a half acres down the road from me.) So... it seems like my resolution is going to be broken for a little while longer...We'll see how next week pans out heh. Oh.. did I mention I love to write? Oh but you probably figured that out already by my rather lenghty comment huh? Well hopefully the weather where you are reading this from is much warmer and much less snowy than here. Take care and see you all on the road soon (I hope soon when are you coming to Ohio?)

that's such a good goal. I've been working on my health, which was my new years resolution. My sister, mom, and I are all doing weight watchers. My emotional/mental health has really improved over the pasts 2 months :) I do however have to go see a surgin for a cyst that's growing in my eye. If you will, keep me in your prayers. My best friend needs prayer too. She's doing great btw.
And I really like the new songs.

kirsty-wow! well i must say my 5 am attempts pale in comparison to your resolutions :) although i just found a list of 25 of my resolutions last night :) and im sure it consitsted of more substantial things than workin out more :) im kidding, but wow! that's really amazing! i pray God continues to use you in your ministry! i'm sure it is trying and tough, but rewarding!
jeni-ahhhh, you better take care! when is your baby due exactly? i forgot! can't wait :)

My new years resolution was to have a healthy pregnancy and to take care of myself and the baby to the best of my ability. Well, I went to the doctor and he said that my pregnancy is going perfectly! God is really taking care of the baby and me.

Oh wow 5am, thats hardcore!
I didn't really make any resolutions as such but the church community I am a part of had a night where we just reflected on our hopes for this year, like things we'd like to grow in or things we'd like to stop doing. It was cool because instead of just thinking about it we all went outside and threw all of the things we'd written in a fire and asked that God would come and give us His desires for this year for us. Kinda like a sign of surrendering to Him.
Anyway long story short it's kinda cool you asked this because I had forgotten what i'd written. One of them was that i'd grow in spiritual wisdom and ability to speak directly into people's lives and that has already been challenged a lot lately working here with our homeless program. I feel like i'm growing with it, which is pretty cool, I still feel pretty out of my depth but God has given me some cool encounters of speaking over the group. My other one was being intentional in making friendships and pursuing any that were lacking. That one is definately in motion, its cool cause back home I didn't have many people to hang out with here its becoming a challenge to fit everyone in, its such a blessing even though its a challenge at times.
It's been a really refreshing alternative to new years resolutions:)
