05/23/2008 Entry: "stranded.."

ok, so we were on our way to Silver City NM today. All of the sudden Marcus and Charlie ask me why the van is filling with smoke...so, yeah long story short, we got stranded...yeah, it was nuts. then after half of us took a taxi to the mechanic and the rest rode in the wrecker we had to walk (pulling all our luggage) 1 1/2 miles, down the streets of El Paso, TX to find a hotel. it was nuts! then we went to the pool for about an hour and then since we were like 10 minutes from Mexico, we grabbed a cab and went n ate dinner over there and now we're back! :) So thought i'd catch you up on the drama...oh, and we missed our show! WE'VE NEVER done that before, ever...

well, i would like to share a few things that i forgot to put in my other comment thingy that i realized this weekend at Spirit West Coast.
1. Worship isn't just with words. it's with hearts. it's about where your heart is. there were people who were worshipping God in sign language and they couldn't even hear the words, but you could tell they felt God and knew He was real. Worship isn't just through our words but our actions and our humility.
2. also somewhat related to worship... you know how sometimes we get distracted while singing and just sing the words not really thinking about them, just in habit. If you think about it, we do that in our relationship with God all the time as well. WE get distracted and place something else before Him and just go through the motions, just so no one questions our hearts and so we can still claim to love God, not that we don't but we aren't raving about Him. We shouldn't let that happen. We need to cut all of the junk out that is getting in the way like for me i know it's my music and what i watch and read. and i think those are big for everyone.
and finally, 3. when you look at the clouds, they feel so far away but hte more you focuz on them, the closer they seem. It's the same with God. again, we get distracted and at first glance He seems so far away but the more we focus on Him, the closer He seems to get, even though He's been in the same place al lthe time. He just becomes more real to us when we seek him. it is then that we find Him and Him alone.

that sucksss. charie was telling me about it, but his version was much longer=] haha. so, this weekend was GREAT and it was even more fabulous hanging with you and the guys.=] i'm still not over how exciting it was. my normal life seems so lame now. haha.
